Muertonic

A coffee cocktail with a gothic edge

  • Ice Cubes
  • 1 Part Kahlúa
  • 1 Part Tequila
  • 3 Parts Tonic
  • 1 Wedge Lemon
  • Parts
  • Ml
  • Oz
  1. 1. Fill a tall glass with ice.
  2. 2. Pour in the Kahlúa coffee liqueur first and then the tequila.
  3. Tip: Pour the liquids gently over the back of a spoon, to form the layers.
  4. 3. Top up with tonic and add a wedge of lemon.

Muertonic’s name is a mix of ‘muerte’ (Spanish for ‘death’) and ‘tonic’—surely the perfect cocktail for Mexico’s annual Day of the Dead celebrations?
