Most of the above recipes use Pumpkin Spice Syrup. If you’re going for the store-bought variety, we recommend Monin. But it’s easy, and always more fun, to make your own. Simply combine 1 cup of water with 1 cup of light brown sugar in a saucepan, the whisk in a few spoonfuls of pumpkin purée along with some spices like cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger. Let the mixture gently summer for about 5-10 mins so the flavors deepen, then strain it through a fine mesh sieve into a jar to remove any pulp. Then just pop it in the fridge, and you’ve got a smooth and cozy syrup perfect for stirring into your favorite Kahlúa cocktails.
