1 part Tequila
3 parts Tonic
1 Wedge Lemon
30 ml Kahlúa
30 ml Tequila
90 ml Tonic
1 oz Kahlúa
1 oz Tequila
3 oz Tonic
Fill a tall glass with ice.
Pour in the Kahlúa coffee liqueur first and then the tequila. Tip: Pour the liquids gently over the back of a spoon, to form the layers.
Top up with tonic and add a wedge of lemon.
Muertonic’s name is a mix of ‘muerte’ (Spanish for ‘death’) and ‘tonic’—surely the perfect cocktail for Mexico’s annual Day of the Dead celebrations?
