INGREDIENTS

1 Shot Espresso

1 part Kahlúa Coffee Liqueur

1 part Heavy Cream

1 tbs Mascarpone cheese

1 tsp powdered sugar (optional)

1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

3 parts Milk of your choice (steamed)

Garnish: Cocoa powder

Optional: Ladyfinger biscuit on top

1 Shot Espresso

30 ml Kahlúa Coffee Liqueur

30 ml Heavy Cream

1 tbs Mascarpone cheese

1 tsp powdered sugar (optional)

1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

90 ml Milk of your choice (steamed)

Garnish: Cocoa powder

Optional: Ladyfinger biscuit on top

1 Shot Espresso

1 oz Kahlúa Coffee Liqueur

1 oz Heavy Cream

1 tbs Mascarpone cheese

1 tsp powdered sugar (optional)

1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

3 oz Milk of your choice (steamed)

Garnish: Cocoa powder

Optional: Ladyfinger biscuit on top

HOW TO MAKE

  1. In a highball glass, pour in the warm espresso and Kahlúa.
  2. Slowly pour in the steamed milk of your choice to create that marbled effect.
  3. In a separate small bowl, add the mascarpone cheese, heavy cream and optional sugar and vanilla extract, and whisk thoroughly. (Use an electric whisk, if possible)
  4. Gently layer the cream mixture on top of the drink and use a spoon to flatten the top.
  5. Garnish with cocoa powder or chocolate shavings.
  6. Optional: Add a ladyfinger biscuit on top and use it to scoop out the creamy top.

TOOLS YOU’LL NEED

Jigger or Measuring Tool

You’ll need this to help you get the right balance in the ingredients. A measuring spoon is also useful for the sugar and vanilla extract. If you don’t have anything handy, you can also use a 30 ml / 1 oz shot glass instead.

Espresso Machine or Coffee Maker

We recommend using a good espresso machine or coffee maker for a rich and flavourful base. A stove-top percolator also works well, or you can even use high-quality instant coffee if needed.

Rocks Glass

We prefer a highball glass this cocktail, as it reminds us more of a traditional latté. That said, though any glass you have in your kitchen will do just fine.

Electric Whisk

To create that smooth, creamy texture in the mascarpone mixture, we suggest using an electric whisk. Otherwise, you can use a hand whisk, or even a spoon, as long as you mix it thoroughly.

Mixing Bowl

We suggest using a small mixing bowl for making the mascarpone cream. Remember to use a bowl that’s easy to hold and whisk in, and you can even use a glass if you want.

Spoon

A table spoon is perfect for gently layering the cream mixture for that beautiful, flat finish on top of your cocktail.

Our Pro Tips for Creating the Perfect Kahlúa Tiramisu Latte

1. Use Your Favourite Milk.

We love dairy-free options, and our favourite for this drink is almond milk with its nutty, tiramisu-like taste. But we also suggest using whole milk for a creamier finish.

2. Use an Electric Whisk.

We suggest using an electric whisk when preparing the mascarpone mixture to make sure the texture is light, smooth and creamy.

3. Froth Your Milk.

Unless you have access to a professional milk steamer or frother, our favourite way to steam milk is by heating it in a saucepan and then using your electric, or hand-held whisk to vigorously froth it up. Just don’t let it burn.

4. Layer Gently.

Make sure to slowly pour the steamed milk over the espresso and Kahlúa to create a stunning layered effect.

5. Add a Ladyfinger.

We think adding a ladyfinger biscuit on top makes this cocktail feel more like a tiramisu, it also gives you an added treat to scoop up the creamy top layer.
