INGREDIENTS

1 part Kahlúa

1 part Absolut Vodka

1 part Club Soda

Ice Cubes

30 ml Kahlúa

30 ml Absolut Vodka

30 ml Club Soda

Ice Cubes

1 oz Kahlúa

1 oz Absolut Vodka

1 oz Club Soda

Ice Cubes

HOW TO MAKE

  1. Fill a rocks glass with ice to the brim. 

  2. Pour in the Kahlúa coffee liquor. 

  3. Using the back of a spoon, slowly pour the Absolut Vodka. 

  4. Slowly top off with soda water, again over the back of the spoon. 

  5. Tip: This is a layered drink, so don’t stir it. Sip it with a paper straw instead. 

TOOLS YOU’LL NEED

Rocks Glass 

We recommend using a rocks glass. Its short, wide shape is perfect for showcasing the drink’s layered effect, allowing you to see the distinct separation between the Kahlúa, vodka, and club soda. If you don’t have a rocks glass, a highball will work just as well.

Paper straw

The Mind Eraser is traditionally meant to be sipped from the bottom up, maintaining the layers. So using a straw ensures you’ll get the full experience.

Tablespoon 

Use the back of a spoon to pour the Absolut Vodka and soda water over the Kahlúa, ensuring the layers don’t mix for that classic presentation.

Top Tips for Creating the Perfect Mind Eraser

1. Chill Your Glass

We suggest chilling your glass in the freezer for about 10 minutes before you start. A cold glass keeps your drink cold for longer and enhances the layered effect. This little step can make a big difference.

2. Use Large Ice

Our tip is to use large, clear ice cubes. They melt slower, keeping your drink cold without diluting the flavors too quickly. We also think large ice just looks nicer.

3. Pour with Precision

When adding the Absolut Vodka and club soda on top of the Kahlúa, pour slowly to maintain the layers. We suggest pouring over the back of a spoon for the last two layers to maintain the separation. l.

4. Avoid Stirring

Here’s a pro tip: resist the urge to stir! The beauty of the Mind Eraser is in its layers, so let them shine. Stirring will blend the flavors too early, and you’ll miss out on tasting each layer individually as you sip.
